8 Pentacles Rx, Empress Rx: Focus on Yourself First

Do you ever feel like if you can do something, especially something requested of you, that you’re obligated? Sometimes I do.

I’m working on it.

If this is true of you, pay attention to the weekly forecast.

Outlook: Reversed Eight of Pentacles

The reversed Eight of Pentacles suggests that while people will be putting in effort to tackle their issues, they may find themselves struggling or facing setbacks. This card often indicates a lack of focus, mistakes being made, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work and life. It’s a reminder that perfection isn’t always possible, and sometimes, it’s okay to acknowledge our limits.

Advice: Reversed Empress

The reversed Empress comes with a strong message: don’t rush in to fix everything. The Empress is nurturing and caring by nature, but in her reversed state, she warns against overextending yourself. It’s about recognizing that you don’t have to be everyone’s savior. This card advises us to step back and allow others to handle their own problems, even if it means they stumble a bit.

You don’t need to solve all the problems you see. In fact, chances are you’ve got some of your own to address, yes? The reversed Eight of Pentacles suggests there’s a risk of burning out if you try to take on too much. Acknowledge where your own work or efforts may be feeling off track, and give yourself permission to not be perfect.

The reversed Empress advises us to focus on self-care. Take care of yourself first and foremost. This doesn’t mean being selfish, but rather ensuring your own well-being so that you can be of genuine help to others when it’s appropriate. Remember, offering support doesn’t mean taking on someone else’s burdens. It’s about being there without sacrificing your own health and happiness.

Take care of who’s in the mirror, first. When you prioritize your own needs, you’re in a much better position to offer love and support elsewhere. Know the difference between offering a supportive hand and trying to solve someone else’s problems entirely. But either way, serve yourself first. Okay?

Permission to prioritize you, granted!
