Try and understand your kind of happiness: Happiness varies from one person to another. It is not necessary that you’ll find happiness in what someone else does. So, in order to define what happiness is to you, you need to identify yours first. Because without being able to identify your own happiness you won’t be able to find it and live it. 

Look for the happiness that can be bought: 50s brings both loneliness and boredom. Even though it is not possible for you to buy love for yourself, you can certainly buy happiness and entertainment for yourself if you spend your money correctly. Doesn’t matter if planning trips make you happy or helping others do, just do whatever brings you happiness and buy yourself great experiences. 

Don’t be too concentrated on finding happiness: The one mistake that we all make is trying too hard to find happiness for ourselves. But the fact is the more you try to find it, the more it’ll seem far away. By trying too hard you are only fixing yourself for disappointment and setback. So, don’t focus too hard, happiness will come to you once you lower your expectations. 

Don’t isolate yourself: It is a given that once you hit 50, you’ll feel like spending time alone more and more. But this is actually the right time to establish contact with your old friends, and make new ones. Because during this time it is not only healthy but also important for a sound and happy mind. Also, you’ll understand that you are not alone in this, but your friends are also facing the same which will give you mental strength. 

Push yourself to explore: If you are sitting at home idle, then you are more likely to feel lonely and unhappy and bored. This is why it is important that you go out in the world and explore new things. Things that’ll make you feel happy and alive even if you do them without being accompanied by. So, it is essential that you feel connected to the world in order to get rid of your loneliness and boredom. 

Try to focus on being healthy: It is proven that any kind of exercise does a great job of lifting up our spirits. Make sure that you exercise every day or at least four times a week in order to boost yourself up because for a sound mind, having a sound body is essential. Also, physical activity causes the production of good-hormones in your body and brain. So, for a positive mindset, focus on being healthy.
